Where you should stay in Hakone FAQs

about hotels Hakone guide
FAQs about hotels Hakone

Is Hakone good for onsen

Hakone is one of Japan’s best hot spring resorts. It has more than 12 mineral-rich hot springs that feed the many onsens in the region. Onsen are in many of the hotels and ryokans. If you enjoy a restorative soak in a hot spring, you’ll find many options.

Is Hakone better than Kawaguchiko?

Hakone and Kawaguchiko are two of the most popular resort destinations for views and proximity to Mount Fuji. Out of the two resorts, Hakone has a lot more going on and is much more accessible by public transport, despite Kawaguchiko having better views of the mountain. I will explain more about traveling to Kawaguchiko in my article “Complete Kawaguchiko Hiking Guide”.

Can you visit Hakone in a day?

Hakone can be reached from Tokyo in under two hours by train. Many tour companies also provide cost-effective bus day trips from Tokyo with cruises on the popular pirate ship. However, when you arrive, you’ll see that this resort has so much going on, that a day trip simply isn’t enough!

In Conclusion

Hakone is a great destination for appreciating Japan’s natural beauty and cultural activities.

Its proximity to Mount Fuji means that you’ll enjoy outstanding views of the iconic mountain while hiking, cycling, or soaking in one of the many reviving onsens in this popular mountain town.
